Pillar VC today announced that Lauren Farrell has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer.
Farrell brings to Pillar extensive financial management experience with both private and public companies, with a focus on start-up and high growth organizations. Previously, Farrell served as CFO for Apple Tree Partners, where she oversaw finances for the firm’s $1.5 billion fund. Prior roles included vice president of finance for medical device company HeartWare International (NASDAQ: HTWR), as well as vice president of finance roles at Brigham Strategic Advisors and e-commerce company Streamline.com. Farrell received her MBA in Entrepreneurial Studies and BS in Accounting from Bentley University.
Farrell joins Pillar VC at a time of significant growth for the firm. In 2021, Pillar announced $192 million of capital for Pillar III and Pillar Select, the firm’s latest venture funds. The added capital enables Pillar to amplify its mission to build important, lasting companies — the future “pillars” of our economy.
